Necessity of Having Homework Nov 20, 2018 in Persuasive Essay Necessity for Homework The debate on how much homework is given to school going children has gone on for a long time. Each side of the supporters and those that oppose, all have different reasons as to their conclusions. The debate has been so heated so much so that legal measures have had to be taken in several cases with those against homework mostly winning the rulings. Take for example; it was debates back in late nineteenth century and early twentieth century whereby there was enactment of an act that made sure that there would be no homework given to children. Research has also found that children who are given homework and those who are not given homework have no difference in performance hence raising the question for the need for homework. In this research, the learner would like to know, are children being given too much homework? It has been argued that there is an increasing necessity of having homework given to school going children. The main reason that is highlighted is that homework helps in bringing attention to the child on serious matters that are developed over time. Homework is also intended to aid in learning as well as averting behavioral problems.
